Phillies world series rain delay, who goes to the game when it restarts in the 6th? ?

Author: cliffordcrane1958  //  Category: Fără categorie

Do you just show your stub at the gate? can you resell the if you can’t go? how do they do it?

The end of a ticket is called the "rain check" and that’s the part the ticket-taker hands back to you when you enter the stadium. If you attend a rained out or postponed game, show the ticket taker your rain check at the gate when the game is rescheduled. If you can’t attend the make-up/rescheduled/resumed game, you can dispose of your ticket any way you want. You paid for it; it’s your property.

You have to show your stub to get in to finish the game from last night when it resumes.

No World Series tonight; Game 5 may resume tomorrow

PLymouth State University in Plymouth NH
Ohio State University in Colombus OH
Coastal Carolina University in Conway SC

Ohio State University seems like the best one, but it also depends what you want to study. That can contribute to your decision.

What does the "bounce" of a golf club mean?

Author: cliffordcrane1958  //  Category: Fără categorie

With all due respect to Googie, the bounce does not "refer" (I believe he means ‘pertains’) to just the wedges. There is bounce on all irons, and it’s purpose is both to create space underneath the ball at impact by compacting grass and soil so the club can slide under the ball, AND to create a lower C.O.G. (Center of Gravity) on square-faced shots by placing more weight in the bottom or "sole" of the clubhead. There are different degrees of "bounce". You want more bounce out of the sand, so that the sand can be easily and effortlessly displaced. The more bounce you use on a sand shot, the less likely the leading edge of the club will cut into the sand or "get stuck". You want LESS bounce while playing a straightforward wedge shot from the fairway, or any instance where you need to take the ball first and THEN the turf. However, in playing "specialty" shots around the green such as a "flop" shot, the less bounce the BETTER, as the club has very little room to slide in between the ball and the ground. Many Tour players have the bounce "ground down" nearer the hozel, or the ‘heel’ of the club, so they can more easily slide the club under the ball on "tight lies" or "hardpan lies" where there is little or no grass or turf under the ball as it rests. most clubs have graduated bounce so that it makes it possible for the player to use as much or as little bounce as needed, and you can accomplish this by orienting the face or angle of the clubface "open" or "closed". Opening the face of the club at address to the ball (i.e., rotating the clubface to the right of your target line for a right-handed golfer, and to the left for a left-handed golfer) promotes the use of MORE bounce, and closing the face (either square to your target, or to the left for a right-handed golfer) uses less or NO bounce. Keep in mind the more your clubface is open, your ball flight will be higher than normal and will travel in the direction toward which your clubface is pointed, and may not travel as far depending on your swing speed and shot, so adjust your aim and stance accordingly.

Googie, I’m not trying to be rude, but good players cannot gauge the degree of bounce from sand conditions. What they DO is change the amount of bounce they’ll need to hit a certain shot from that bunker. If I’m short-sided in a greenside bunker with no green to work with, I open the face of my wedge so that the clubface angle is parallel to the ground. This "pops" the ball straight up and depending on the slope and speed of the green, I can usually stop it by the hole. From that SAME bunker, if I need to hit to a far hole placement, I’ll square up the clubface so LESS bounce is used and more sand displaced in order to "push" the ball farther onto the green. SAND SHOT TIP: Stand on the fringe of the green between your ball in the bunker and the hole facing the hole, before you hit your bunker shot. Read the green from the fringe just like would any putt. Picture how you want the ball to come out of the bunker (i.e., do I want more, or less roll?) Pick a spot to land your ball so that it will roll like a well-struck putt on the green, and hit your bunker shot to that spot. More bounce used means less roll; less bounce used means more roll. Good luck and have fun.

armandlkm | May 17, 2009

The" bounce " of a club refers to the gap wedge or sand wedge and is determined primarily by the width of the flange of the club in question. The wider the flange, the less the club will dig into the ground or sand , thus it bounces. Good players, through experience and practice can usually determine the degree of bounce by the texture of the sand and swing accordingly.
googie | May 17, 2009

If you look at your sand wedge, the thick piece of metal just behind the leading edge of the club is the bounce.
Sharper | May 17, 2009

The term "bounce" is used to describe a specific design of the soles of irons and wedges that is intended to reduce the "drag" of the sole through sand, longer grass or Bermuda grass; or, to reduce the incidence of hitting behind the ball (fat shots).

A bounce sole design is characterized by the rear sole edge (the trailing edge) being closer to the ground than the front sole edge (the leading edge) when the club is addressed behind the ball. That relationship of the front and back of the sole creates an angled surface on the bottom of the sole, which resists the clubhead digging deeper into sand or digging deeper into tall grass.

At the same time, if the bounce angle of the sole is too great, it will be a killer when trying to hit shots from hardpan or very thin turf

Has anyone heard the story of the Bell Witch?

Author: cliffordcrane1958  //  Category: Fără categorie

Is the new movie ‘An American Haunting’ based on the Bell Witch story?

Here’s the story :
I feel bad about the Bell family that had to endure that. There was a part of the story about Andrew Jackson visited the John Bell farm and swore that he wouldn t come back to the property

lstotch {PAC} | May 08, 2006

Yep. I wanted to be a paranormal research when I was growing up, so I know all about the bell witch aside from actually going to the site where the Bell house used to stand, and observing occurances. ‘An American Haunting’ is based off the actual events that occured, but some of the variants of the actual story got switched around a la Hollywood. Surprisingly enough, the witch didn’t haunt the house, supposedly, it haunted Mr. Bell. And followed him until he died.
obscured_obloquy | May 08, 2006

Yes, i’m crazy about ghost
She suppose to have hunted a family because of the father and hunted them until the father died ( she killed him)

How will A-Rod be greeted by fans at the All Star game next year at Yankee Stadium?

Author: cliffordcrane1958  //  Category: Fără categorie

If the Yankees are true to there word, and do not go after A-Rod this off season, he will sign with another team. Assuming that he puts up the numbers he usually does, he will be the starting third baseman on for either the NL or the AL all star team next year. For those of you that do not know, the All Star game will be at Yankee Stadium.. What do you think, boos or cheers from the fans in the stands when he gets introduced?

I know the answer to this question and I can tell you, without any doubt in my mind, that there will be some of both.

Frizzer | Oct 30, 2007

He won’t get either. But Derek Jeter will give him a hug because of their gay life together.
Dick M | Oct 30, 2007

Boos, definitely.
bencas9900 | Oct 30, 2007

A-Rod is not classy and a chicken so he’ll probably fake an injury and not show up for the All-Star game.
Inspi(red) | Oct 30, 2007

I think A-Rod…should walk out with his agent…talking about the Bronx is burning
blue316 | Oct 30, 2007

If fans bood him when he was on their team, even though he hit 35-45 home runs and drove in 120, I simply don’t see them cheering him when he comes back.

Pattyboy, I think you overestimate the effect of fans on players.
If they were really moved by fans, they couldn’t possibly look at the crowd knowing they spent $300 of their $40k a year to be there while Rodriguez just made $125,000 for showing up at the game.
brettj666 | Oct 30, 2007

A-Rod will be boooed right out of DA Bronx and onto his shrinks couch pissing and moaning!!! Figure he is not only going to get booed at the all star game but if he stays in the AL he will get booed in Seattle Texas and now NY….He stands a better chance in the NL interleague play he may aviod at least one of the ballparks…He is gonna end up in a mental hospital with a damaged ego!!!
Pattyboy | Oct 30, 2007

A-Rod, despite all the criticism, is THE best player on the planet and I think it is the A-Rod haters who need mental help as they try to justify their hatred. Either they are naive, jealous, or just plain stupid!
cpocollins | Oct 30, 2007

75000 BOOS
J-Roc | Oct 30, 2007

He will get cheered when he is announced then booed after hitting a homerun

What are the chances the FIA will reverse the penalty on Lewis Hamilton?

Author: cliffordcrane1958  //  Category: Fără categorie

The Mclaren team have confirmed they have filed for an appeal as well as confirmed the FIA has told them twice they were ok.

Drive-thru penalties cannot be reversed, but do u think with the evidence Mclaren claim to have will be enough proof to restore Hamilton’s victory?

If the FIA decide to break their own rules and reverse all precedent, then the penalty might be reversed.

So yes if they bow to public opinion, and no if they decide to stick to the rulebook.

EDIT Just to increase the number of TDs I’ve collected since Sunday, the video of Schumacher/De La Rosa is not the same thing at all. Schumacher was the driver leading into the corner, and he went wide to avoid an accident. Look at your clip again: at no stage is De La Rosa in front until Schumi has made the decision to go over the run-off area. If De La Rosa had been ahead, then Schumi would have had to let him back through, but as it was De La Rosa’s overtaking move which caused the incident Schumi didn’t have to let him through. Schumi didn’t gain an advantage, seeing as he was leading already.

rosbif | Sep 09, 2008

As much as I hope they do, they won’t because that would mean the ruling not going in Ferrari’s favour. Did you see the video of a similar incident in 2006 involving Schumi NOT giving De La Rosa back a place after cutting a chicane and getting away with it: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-5UnPeyzcH M
gking92 | Sep 09, 2008

I think that this Ferrari bias nonsense is really OTT and should be given a rest.
Jarno Trulli thinks he gained an advantage and that’s good enough for me,
Tom | Sep 09, 2008

To be honest I think they have 2 chances, fat chance and no chance. hope I’m wrong but I won’t hold my breath
val f1 nutter | Sep 09, 2008

hamilton followed the rules..it is racing…the FIA is a disgrace in what they did….what was he supposed to do?….its long overdue that the FIA was dumped……..
manx4080 | Sep 09, 2008

If they do reverse it I’d take that as a sign of the Apocalypse.

no way…..no need to……a descision is an desicision…and if its changed again…..then FIA and FOA will just become an joke….!!!……and the stewards,bernie,max…..these guys will just look like ….hmm………Zombies who just roam around the in the pits during the race weekend and who are hardly bothered of…..and they dont want it to happen…..

if i were steward and mclaren had appealed i would have said-

"ron whatever happened …..happened…..i feel sorry for u and lewis…..we would allow lewis to reverse the drive through penalty…at monza…..he can drive his car in the reverse gear through the pits at monza and undo the penalty" ;-) ……….

and now u may know why i ain’t an steward…….
3utkarsh3 | Sep 10, 2008

It was a judgement call by the stewards, and not likely to be reversed.

Massa stated that if LuHam had taken the chicane properly, he would never had been able to pass Kimi on the short straight. Lawyers call it poisoned fruit of the tree. In other words, even though LuHam gave up the place to Kimi, he was still able to tuck right in behind him for the tow, which he might not have been able to do had he taken the chicane properly to begin with. I think this was the stewards view as well.

On a wet track, and attempting a pass on the outside in the chicane, was pretty stupid, which is why LuHam cut the chicane when Kimi went wide on the wet track.
