The Mclaren team have confirmed they have filed for an appeal as well as confirmed the FIA has told them twice they were ok.
Drive-thru penalties cannot be reversed, but do u think with the evidence Mclaren claim to have will be enough proof to restore Hamilton’s victory?
If the FIA decide to break their own rules and reverse all precedent, then the penalty might be reversed.
So yes if they bow to public opinion, and no if they decide to stick to the rulebook.

EDIT Just to increase the number of TDs I’ve collected since Sunday, the video of Schumacher/De La Rosa is not the same thing at all. Schumacher was the driver leading into the corner, and he went wide to avoid an accident. Look at your clip again: at no stage is De La Rosa in front until Schumi has made the decision to go over the run-off area. If De La Rosa had been ahead, then Schumi would have had to let him back through, but as it was De La Rosa’s overtaking move which caused the incident Schumi didn’t have to let him through. Schumi didn’t gain an advantage, seeing as he was leading already.

As much as I hope they do, they won’t because that would mean the ruling not going in Ferrari’s favour. Did you see the video of a similar incident in 2006 involving Schumi NOT giving De La Rosa back a place after cutting a chicane and getting away with it: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=-5UnPeyzcH M

I think that this Ferrari bias nonsense is really OTT and should be given a rest.
Jarno Trulli thinks he gained an advantage and that’s good enough for me,

To be honest I think they have 2 chances, fat chance and no chance. hope I’m wrong but I won’t hold my breath

hamilton followed the rules..it is racing…the FIA is a disgrace in what they did….what was he supposed to do?….its long overdue that the FIA was dumped……..

If they do reverse it I’d take that as a sign of the Apocalypse.

no way…..no need to……a descision is an desicision…and if its changed again…..then FIA and FOA will just become an joke….!!!……and the stewards,bernie,max…..these guys will just look like ….hmm………Zombies who just roam around the in the pits during the race weekend and who are hardly bothered of…..and they dont want it to happen…..
if i were steward and mclaren had appealed i would have said-
"ron whatever happened …..happened…..i feel sorry for u and lewis…..we would allow lewis to reverse the drive through penalty…at monza…..he can drive his car in the reverse gear through the pits at monza and undo the penalty"
……….
and now u may know why i ain’t an steward…….

It was a judgement call by the stewards, and not likely to be reversed.
Massa stated that if LuHam had taken the chicane properly, he would never had been able to pass Kimi on the short straight. Lawyers call it poisoned fruit of the tree. In other words, even though LuHam gave up the place to Kimi, he was still able to tuck right in behind him for the tow, which he might not have been able to do had he taken the chicane properly to begin with. I think this was the stewards view as well.
On a wet track, and attempting a pass on the outside in the chicane, was pretty stupid, which is why LuHam cut the chicane when Kimi went wide on the wet track.
